Basic Control

Basic Control

This is the first class new dogs and handlers must do

Our Basic Control class covers the first and important things an owner and dog need to know. This class teachers and improves the handler’s skills and understanding of how to have a well-mannered and controlled dog.

If you are new to dog training this basic course is aimed at all the training you will need for a family pet.

It covers the basics of “Sit”, “Down”, “Return when called” , “Stay where placed” and by the end of the course you should be able to control your dog when off lead.  These are all taught outside, under a busy environment with plenty of distractions that will improve the focus with your dog.

As well as this there is the opportunity to discuss any problems you may with your dog have with our trainers. We use kind, positive reinforcement training methods and our courses are not intended to achieve levels required for competition – but just to teach control, and still have fun with your dog.

At the end of the course a certificate is awarded as long as attendance has been Maintained.

The next class from Basic control is Clicker for Agility - this is for people who are interested in agility (this class is also dependent on whether we have a trainer for it).

For anyone who wants to do agility they MUST do the clicker for agility class.

Held on Tuesday or Thursday nights at 6pm (days/times may vary)

Course Fees:    $65 per 6 week term.

If Payment is not received by the date advised by the course co-ordinator then a place in the class will no longer be available for you.
